In this visually driven reimagining of Sartre’s No Exit, Stefanos Drousiotis transforms the existential chamber into a tangible mechanism of confinement. The work unfolds inside a closed wooden room whose side walls move toward one another, compressing the space and intensifying Sartre’s idea that “hell is other people.”

With minimal spoken text, the performance focuses on the body, gesture, and rhythm, attempting to translate philosophical tension into physical form. As the room tightens, the characters’ presence becomes increasingly fragile within the shrinking architecture that mirrors a gradual collapse of human coexistence. Drousiotis’s No Exit becomes less a retelling of Sartre’s play and more a visual meditation on enclosure, perception, and the relentless proximity of others.
